Hi, I was just wondering how much traffic can I expect on reaching the front page of Digg? Also, does the traffic convert well? Is it worth the investment spent on promotion and marketing of the Digg URL? Thanks, Krish
I say no - I would concentrate on multiple small niches where you can rank on the first page of each niche.
I'm wondering the same question, but I guess the traffic you can get and the conversion rate depends on the content you are promoting.
I would imagine that the conversion of the traffic will have more to do with how accurate your digg is and how much conversion you are currently getting on your page. The traffic should be pretty amazing I am sure, but if you are going to spend time and money on getting your digg on the front page for one day worth of good traffic, you may be able to get better and longer lasting results by expending the same resources on driving traffic to your own site.
I know a friend who got 125,000 Visitors from DIGG in a short period of time. However It was to a blog, you wouldn't be able to get a Salespage up tp the top of Digg before it was flagged back down again!
Digg traffic converts really badly but on the plus side the extreme exposure it gives you might still mean you get more conversions than on a normal day.
Generally, you can expect anywhere upwards of 50,000 visitors. Even though others are right about the traffic not converting well and the fact that sales pages get flagged down almost instantly, a smarter way of doing it is to promote your blog, attach a freebie that the visitors would want to get, grab their email addresses and promote your product in the backend Good luck!
I've seen huge digg spikes translate into sizeable uptick in sales using the freebie blog technique. Very good strategy for sales site.
For the most part, it's crap quality traffic, but like others have said, it can be decent if you have something the typical Digg crowd is into.
I think yes! A quite a lot of traffic front page digg can give you! The real question is how much time will you invest. of course is it not worth if you spent months on this and than you have one day link on front page! You must calculate time factor
You can expect around 60k in a couple of days. My site used to get there once and I made a lot of sales.
you can expect a lot of hits when it stays there, but conversion, not really! Digg users mainly checkout whats so interesting in something that appears in page 1, but they're buying capacity.. certainly questionable!
