Usually $1.00 for every stain on their shirt. Seriously though, it all depends on the quality of service (timeliness, manners, etc.)
well that time i really never expected a tip. and im not being ridiculous or sarcastic or whatever. i never did. but i have to admit though that the only reason i worked as a service crew was because i don't have much to do that time. not unlike my co-workers where in they really need the money.
Lots of places, and if you are eating with me you better tip....well....unless you are paying for the meal.
Personally, pizza delivery gets upto $8 from me. no less than $5. I used to work for Pizza Hut and the worst tip I got was from a guy that paid me a fake $20 and told me to keep the change (bill was $13).
most of the time i dont..... looking at the bill, i can see how much the tax is..PLUS the service charge. i usually put some money on the tin can located at the counter area (that's for charitable institution), i guess those people needs it most.
One reason I would feel guilty if I ever didn't tip my waitress (because I always tip them well) is because I heard somewhere that the IRS now calculates the income tax they charge the waitress based on a percentage of the actual table checks issued, meaning if the check was $20, the IRS would take 15% of that ($3) and charge the waitress income tax on $3 worth of income. I may have been mislead by this information but as much as I hate paying taxes myself, I feel bad when people don't tip the waitress and they in turn have to pay taxes on money they never even received - and with the sub-minimum wage rates they already receive, that is something none of them can afford to have to cover.
So? They get paid according to their skillset! Which happens to be... nothing! Why do I have to study and work a shitload of time to get my high salary and the waiters not? So if we don't tip them, they will get paid properly then, won't they? Yeah, and there's a reason for that. THEY ARE PIZZA DELIVERY DRIVERS. If you want a better salary, get a better job. Honestly, your argument is stupid. Do you donate your monthly check to poor people starving in Africa? No, why not? Those people are far worse off than you! You should be ashamed of yourself!
Seriously, the tip is part of the price of the food. If you can't afford to tip, you can't afford to order the food. Call ahead, then pick up the pizza yourself and save both the delivery fee and the tip. To the non-tippers, I hope you never order from the same place twice. Do you really want some pissed off 17 year old making $2/hr handling your food?
