How much to pay an editor?

    Hello there

I have a few directories, and I'm thinking about hiring an editor for boatdir.com to save me some time.

How much should I pay him?

He should go to sites, add them to categories and add a description according to the about us section or the meta description of that site.

What would be the fee for that?

I pay editors for each link added, but it will depend how hard it is to find the sites.

If it's just approving submissions i would pay 20 cents each, thats around 10$ per hour if you work at a good speed.

Well, for sites like boatdir.com loadmove.com and findhd.com - how much should I pay the person to find the site and add it?

    I'll validate it later...

Sites are very easy to find..

Also - where can I find such an editor

    Thanks

IF you want just sheer quantity then hire someone cheap but if you want quality links you need to pay a little more.

It takes time to search for good sites to add to a directory. I think a fair rate is $1.00 to $2.00 per site if the descriptions are unique and are a decent length. Kepp in mind you will also need to give this person feedback on there work. If you are paying someone cheap they won't value the job as much.

I was offered $0.5 per site added to a directory and found that if it involved searching plus selecting plus writing meaningful title and description etc, one could do only about 7 an hour. So, I did not touch it after the initial test. I think that it has to be at least $1 an entry.

I would find someone in somewhere like paraguay or where the average wage is $150 a month or something and give em $200 and let them work on it full time. It will take a little while to get up to speed anyway ;)

I guess you are going for quantity not quality.

Actually they are very good posters, some 19 and 20 year old kids who are looking for ways to make easy money, saves me a lot of time - strongly recommended, don't know why I havn't done this so far.
