Buying How much to make a bidding site?

I need to get an idea on how this is going to work. High level requirements are as follows:

It is a Buy/ Sell site
Sellers post what they want to sell
Buyers then communicate directly through the site to the seller (if they want to exchange email, telephone they can)
The site does not get involved in payments or anything.
It is like a free advertising paper
The advertisements will be in boxes like in a newspaper where there is a picture, description and price
The advertisements are categorized by product/ service type and location
Buyers can sort by product and/ or location
Advertisements have an expiry date
Sellers and buyers will need to register

This is stage one. Further down the line we will introduce a bidding process, grading of sellers etc like eBay.

But just to add, I suppose what I would like to do, is create the website (using BlackBird theme which is free) and leave the gaps for the functionality to be added by you.

You can then pop in what is required

i believe for $400 you can get a decent script out there for a bidding site. Just google bidding/maketplace script and you can find a few. the only extra dollar you need to put in is for the design work.

Since scripts are different, you need to find the right designer who knows how to work around the script and not have a desinger who will just add more bugs to your site. good luck!

 

whyfaisal has given you a good suggestion go for a premade script and then implement your design into it by hiring a designer. You will get the functionality of how you need.

 

I have a ebay clone script, and I can just re-do the design for you.
