I have a great ideea on how to make a realy good and profitable website, the only problem is that the 'market' is full.
I want to use adwords to promote my website,is it enough.I mean why do people buy links?submit to directories?do all kind of strange things?when they can just use adwords. The question is simple,is ADWORDS enough to promote your website?if I don't want page rank, nothing else, just to become popular..

you will get traffic. But I'm not sure will you get repeated visitors and will you get links and therefore free traffic from SE.

I think there is also two different images that come across from the two different marketing methods.

When using adwords, which is GREAT for some things, it generally tends to give the impression that something is being sold. There isn't a huge set of website marketing campaigns using adwords where the website is about general information and not selling anything.

If all you have is a single page with a long sales letter, then definitely use adwords. When people are in a buying spirit and they see your ad, they can come right to you.

However, there is a since of credibility, trustworthiness and authority that can be perceived when a site ranks high (or at all) in the organic listing methods.

If the same site came up twice in the search engine on the same page, once in the #1 spot for organic and also in the #1 spot in the adwords section, I believe there would be an edge to getting the conversion from the organic method simply because of the impression the searcher had about how they found you.

Think about your own experience. When you look over to the right side of the Google search results page, your mind is probably already beginning to imagine the huge, colorful, "Buy Me Now", sales letter tactics to get money. And then, sometimes you reluctantly click the link and clinch.

"What's it going to be? ...What's it going to be?" you ask yourself as you cross your fingers.

Imagine if more people simply marketed their information site that wasn't selling anything. As this caught on, more and more people would click those links I believe.

In summary, the impression that you are sending your searchers is a BIG part of difference between the two.....IMHO..... :)

The only way to survive in that kind of market is to do what everyone else does but better. And even that isn't good enough. You're going to have to find a really good reason that people should go to you instead of any of your competitors.

And as with any venture, you should not invest any more than you can do without. If you want to invest $1000 you better be able to lose all $1000.

Start slow until you know how much of your investment is returning back to you. If you spend $100 on advertising and don't make a dime then you may want to try something else.

I'm in that boat... I recently sank $100 into AdWords with very little return. In fact, I generated ZERO leads and ended up making only about $10 in AdSense clickthroughs. Obviously, buying from Google and then selling to Google isn't a good idea.

Will $100 go further in Yahoo! or AdCenter?

I won't count on that. To do arbitrage you have to be expirienced and you certainly aren't so :).

Thanks Mr Dean... I didn't mean that I'd be buying from MSN with the hope to push through Google -- I just wondered if more targeted traffic could be had from MSN and/or Yahoo for the same PPC buck.

Adwords is a great online marketing channel. however, it is not the only one. I recently wrote an new article about various forms of online marketing. you can find that here >> http://www.seojoe.com/online-marketing-campaign-components.html
