If you were an "SEO specialist" if you will ( a legitimate one)helping someone increase rank and optimize their page, how much would you charge for:

1.consulting - you tell/show them what to do but they do it

2.doing the SEO yourself for them

3.doing the SEO, and updating/maintaining it for them

This is for a single person, not someone that has a multi-person business and needs to pay for rent, employees, etc.

Depends on how good you are and how successful you are. Issues are also keywords and budgets ;)

For a guide some people charge these kind of prices
    1) Consulting- $300-$500
    2) Doing the SEO yourself for them- Totally depends on keywords. Expect to pay $3,000-$10,000
    3) Doing the SEO, and updating/maintaining it for them- A few thousand dollars a month

I ask the buyer to give me a price..

    1) Consulting- $200-$400
    2) Doing the SEO yourself for them- depends on whether he will pay for link building or not.

    1) $200 - $300. Because it Depends on how long the consultation
    2) It Depends on your conversation...

GardenSEO just about summed it up for my answer. Those are the prices I do for SEO/consulting.

Definetly depends on how much time it will take and what value your information is. Its easy to get ripped off by so called SEO experts who just read the forums themselves. I say skip it and learn yourself!

I charge the same hourly rate for everything I do - and usually end up with a combination of consultancy and webdesign. I think I'm probably a bit overpriced for just webdesign and a bit underpriced for consultancy... 70 euro's an hour.
