With nofollow on external links the link juice flows to to your internal pages instead of other people's sites. So you get higher rankings by having nofollow.

 

Thanks for all your help! Joomla Dude set me all up and taught me how to work the site. For a VERY good rate he installed a template, installed many important plugins, helped with some SEO, and walked me through getting my new blog tweaked just the way I wanted it.
