i have found myself a new niche, but the problem is its a vast subject. so how long will u ppl take on a site before launching it? or will u just launch it and build it slowly and give the big leap of link building and getting-traffic stuff once its satisfactorily complete?

Build the content up after go live (after all you're in the sandbox, might as well let google have it) but have the architecture done. If you use a CMS that might only take a day, but if the style is intense and mods/hacks are required it could take much longer.

I agree. I let the site go live. Then add content.

The rather famous article "26 steps to 15k a Day" mentions as the step no. 1, preparing at least 100 pages of real content before you start the site, at least that's how I understood. I also follow the opposite way, first site, second comes content. And like sarahk says, the architecture is very important. You can always change some badly written or temporary content later, but changing for example the structure of the web later on is pain in the a**.

If it was never online, why do you think it won't go in the sandbox once you bring it online? Doesn't Google sandbox based on length of site being online, and not the length of domain name?

getting the content before or getting the content after is really not a problem.

its how you feel and take it.

wat matters, as per me, how often do you update tho content (site).

Well this is specifically a static site in all its meaning. There cant be much dynamic content in this niche. So i better start from uploading the home page and then build on it.

You can't use a content management system because of the niche it occupies? I don't get that, could you explain more?

Building up good content takes time. You need to do a lot of research on the topic to generate valuable content. Visitor feedback helps you determine what modifications are needed. It would be a good idea to launch the site with 20,25 pages of good content, ask for feedback from others, make necessary alterations in design and content and add up more pages slowly IMO.
