You still need to promote it somehow. Use whatever social media you can use to do that.

Yes that's right, its really not that important for you to know if someone visited your topic what you need to do is to promote your topic on social medias. In that way there would be a high possibility that someone took interest in your topic and visited. Just be sure to promote your topic in short sentences or descriptions either taken from your topic or your own words.

I also agree to masterbusiness. You have to promote your article in social media sites, social bookmarking sites and article submission sites.

As everyone else has said, you need to promote/advertise your site. Use forums, blogs, and Social Media for starters to get traffic to your article. Writing the article is only like half of the work that needs to be put in. Good Luck to You

You don't always have to promote it - although it's good to. It depends on the keywords that you are targeting for it. Did you do research before hand? If it's something that has very, very, very low competition you can see some organic traffic after a while. It's rare, but it happens.

It depends to some extent on what time you post during the day and what day of the week you post. It also depends on the quality of the article and they subject itself. You should experiment with different times of day, for example posting in 2am obviously is a bad idea because few people will be online and the ones who post in the morning when more people are online will naturally topple your position ect.

I would advice something completely out of the typical, but it's not for you in this stage.

The best way to earn reputation and following is by working for your image outside the net, ironically. The problem is that at this moment in time, you aren't ready for the spot, you don't have enough content. Your's, as stated before, is one article out of thousands posted that same morning.

    Hi Adam.
This is the same problem that shop owners face. They open a nice new shop selling - for example - greetings cards. If they sit in their shop all day and read a book and drink coffee - they may be upset that after a month they have had no visitors and sold no products.
But if they put an opening ad in the paper, tell all their friends and family about their shop and put notices in public places, people will begin to hear about them and tell each other. Satisfied customers will recommend them to others etc etc

You know exactly what I mean...

You can't just post something and wait for visitors, you need to promote it like the above comments. Get some work done, man.

For getting visitors you should do backlinking and social media marketing. I think it's better if you do this.

Some more thoughts that may help. Try and put yourself in the mind of somebody who will be looking for your products.

How old are they? What do they do for a living? In other words - who are you trying to sell to? Who will be interested in your products?

If you sell computer games products, then 16 to 25 year-olds with spare cash are your target. If you sell binoculars and telescopes, you might want to look at the bird watching and astronomy market. Maybe a slightly older market. You can target things like Facebook ads to age ranges, geographical regions and even times of day. In other words - target you ads. Only 1 in 5000 will be wanting bird watching field glasses so there's no point buying a general solo ad. The way you target is to think who your customers will be, and then work your emails and blogs at them. eg "Looking for a light pair of powerful binoculars for birdwatching? - You might want to look here... etc" Don't try and sell immediately.

The way to find your targets is to do the research. This is also called 'work'! Look for specialised forums in your niche, and reply to posts on these forums with a link to your blog, where you post DAILY great content. Look at OFFLINE advertising too - like specialist magazines anf even cards in shops. Be imaginative.

If you do daily quality blog posts for a week AND promote them regularly on Social Media you will be getting your first visitors immediately.

    Good luck
    Richard
