10-15 minutes depending on the subject. Its hard for me to stop at 250-300 words, just getting started at that point.

I think 15 minutes is abit brash. What about proof-reading, keyword research, topic research etc.

    Great topic.

This is a critical success factor (crs) to any small business website owner. Outsource, DIY or do both?

I take far too long on an article, so I outsource, which means I compromise on quality, but win on quantity. At the moment, quantity wins, but the time will come when one needs to do both (as soon as technology improves).

For me it will going to take a longer time as the article must be meaningful, so atleast i require one day for writing 250 articles.

I prefer to do my article writing in blocks of two. There are usually only a few topics i will write about. So i am usually well versed and have some knowledge in these niches.

I can do a little further research if required and will have written 2 decent articles, anywhere between 250 and 400 words in about 45 minutes. Take a break, cup of coffee and then start my next two which again are usually done within about 45-60 minutes. I try and do that 3 or 4 times a day along with other tasks, so i don't get burnt out by trying to write loads and loads without giving my brain a rest! (Nothing like an hour's social bookmarking or keyword research to make you want to start writing again!)

Having said that, i have written an article within my main niche in about 5 minutes flat because the information was coming out of every pore in my body and on the flip side i once spent 3 hours writing a 250 word article for someone else on a subject that i knew very little about. Unfortunately, when i searched the net for more info on the article, i found the same copy and pasted 100 word article about 1000 times...so that's it took me 3 hours to stretch that into a 250 worder (lots of adjectives and beating around the bush and not getting to the point!!!)
