How much time do you spend for writing?

    Hello !

I tried writing for a living but the problem is, it takes me 3-4 hours to produce a 500-word article on topics that I am not familiar with.

Some non-native speakers of English can produce 10 articles per day. Can anyone give me some tips on how to write faster without sacrificing the quality?

    Thanks!

I can write 400-600 words for 1 hour. For now i am currently working on own blogs and I write articles although it's not really my field but I practice myself to get use to it.

I normally spend around 1-1:30 hours writing my articles for my blog, but it really does depend on the subject, for some reason I can write about certain topics faster then others.

The thing is, when people say they can produce 10 articles per day, they may just be very good at writing, but there is also a chance they are just using an article spinner, they may have written, 20 posts to begin with, and just spin each article over and over again, producing unique articles.

Keep practicing and a day will come when you'll be able to crank 3 articles of 400-500 words in just an hour :)

I started just like you, but I'm, making a living now. It takes me 30 minutes to write a quality article (500 words) and I charge $10 for it :D

Think of that as $20 an hour, that's a pretty good pay ....

Just regularly practicing writing content will help.

I can write article on common topic in 15 minutes. Special topic needs more attention and it may take 30-40 minutes per article.

I'm not regularly writing articles regularly so I guess the amount of time i spent is just fairly enough to produce quality articles. But even if not regularly, i make sure that I compensate the day I didn't write.

If you write articles for a living, how does that work?

Do you write a whole load of article then try and sell them, or do you get people to request articles?
And then how much is the average to charge per word?

It depends on the article I am working on. Normally I used to spend around 2-3 hours for article writing and the rest of the day for building some backlinks to my blog

in the beginning of this business you are going broke, but after you get some practice, not only will you write faster, but you can charge more money. The key is not only to write quality articles, but also be consistent and reliable. Too many bloggers are flakes (good for us that are not) so they don't get repeat business. If you are self motivated and patient...you CAN make this work!

It's an amazing rate!!! I used to write a 500-words article per hour but now it mast take 1 day to FIND something to write! :( I think finding a good niche to write is the most challenging step. :-(

For my own blog, a post that contains 400-500 words will take me 40 mins to an hour. I consider this as pretty fast because I have knowledge of the subject well.

What i feel that if you have good knowledge in about your article topics thn it will not take more thn 1.5hrs for per 500 words article.
But sure your writing speed will increase day by day.
My suggestion for you keep the quality dont worry about the time at first thn you will get result in near feature.
    hope all the best :)
