Tried to do the search but nothing came out specific to time investment. Question: How much time do you invest in creating/developing a website specifically for adsense/ads in general? Research & Development = ? Maintennance = ? I ask this because I am interested in developing 1 or 2 websites specifically for adsense. Right now, I have hdrphotos.net but this website is focused more on my hobby (photography) and not generating money. Putting adsense was just to compensate for the $$ i've spent on the webhosting But after joining this forum, I've learned that there's $$ in this industry. So I guess I wanted to know how much time I should invest in this and would it be all worth it? Would you guys mind sharing with us how much time you invest/how much it generates? TimeInvested/IncomeMade Example: I invest 2 hours a day on HDRphotos.net / I make $1.30 a day on adsense
research development and maintenance is a full time job on daily basis, henc ethe 3 never can be separated but the total number of hrs per year certainly is in the range of 5000hrs or more - most of my working days are in excess of 18hrs/d the results is a real generic success with zero $ marketing or advertisement and only true generic adsense traffic one single site since 10 years - only unique self-created content
That depends. Obviously you'll invest more time at first and you'll balance the criteria as you go. It's hard to put up a statistic for what minds me, but it's more in research than maintainance.
Thanks for the reply hans. wow! that's a lot of hours! So I assume you are happy with the results? Which website are you referring to? I see your location is Philippines... fellow pinoy?
It ned not be a full-time job to make money off adsense or other streams. However, to be able to make decent money, it can be time consuming.
Do you think 2 hours a day (since I also have a full time job) is fine? I am not really in a hurry to put these websites up and running.
once the functionality of the site is done, I spend an hour or 2 per day marketing the site.. buying links, using adwords, related print marketing, etc.
In reality, you get back out of your site what you put into it usually. Some people get lucky but in general the more time you put into R&D on your site the more traffic you'll get, converting into (hopefully) more AdSense dollars. If you're comfortable with the amount of money you're getting paid for 2 hours a day worth of work, then it's worth it to you. I have some sites that I get in the $xxx/hour for, and others that I get in the low $x/hour for. In the end I'm happy with the amount of money I'm making from my hard work so I continue doing it and at the same time try to work even harder. In the end, you're the only one that can determine if the $ you're making for your 2 hours a day (10 hours a week, in terms of a "real job") is fine.
1. no i am but a guest here in PH since 2000 2. i have only one site see sig links 3. YES of course i am happy with the adsense results
The first several months for me was virtually a full-time job.. every waking moment (when not at my 'day job') was spent working on my site.. Now, after a little over 1 year i'm down to only 1-2 hours per day... Overall earnings are very good, but more streams than just Adsense..
I don't spend a whole lot of time doing my website anymore. At first, I had to spend a lot marketing the website, submitting it to search engines, doing SEO and all that but now it has calmed down a bit and all I really have to do is write some interesting blog posts.
basing from all your posts, it seems that hardwork really pays off.. I guess what I would have to do right now is Research first.. find my niche.. then look for good content/materials.. once i get everything i need, i will start with developing the site..
2 hours a day should be enough once the site is working, spend a little time adding content and adding some new links each day and you should be able to keep it ticking over.
I just created a new website and it's been running for about 5 days now.. so far im getting an average of $3 a day.. not much i spent almost 20 hours so far to get everything together so we'll see. Im thinking ill be spending 2-3 hours a day with this website and see what will happen in a month
www.freeringtoneheaven.com hasn't been worked on for months now. It makes the most of all my sites. Cubia is starting to get a lot of visitors now and also hasn't been worked on for quite awhile. I'd say I spend maybe an hour or two at most working on web-sites every day. I work on sites more when I first start them but it doesn't usually take more than 40 hours to finish a site. After that it's just touch ups every once in awhile.
before i spent lots of time for my site. now i spent lots of time in DP. and it think it's great thing for me to know DP.
I don't even update my websites and they're making great money. I spend about 5 minutes a day checking them and doing a bit of free advertising here and there.
Instead of R&D and maintenance, you should focus more time on marketing your site to get more traffic, and specifically, targeted traffic to your site. The more targeted your traffic, the better your conversions will be. You're in a lucrative niche and should be able to monetize it well. The fastest way to test the conversion would be to send some PPC traffic. That way you can tweak and test really fast to see what works.
