Hello all, Can some of you experienced guys tell me how long it takes Google to increase your SERPs after you increase your back links? To be specific, I've just got a couple of PR6 links to my site, and so I expect to see an increase in my traffic. How long before the links get noticed and start to have an effect? I'm sure people will say "Well, it all depends on...", but I am just looking for a general rule of thumb like "In my experience, it takes Google a month to figure it all out." I mean, we can't expect Google to recalculate the rankings for the entire internet on a daily basis, can we? Any experiences with this?
The internal PR and rankings at Google are dynamic - I see subtle changes within days of making changes. The public PR you see on your toolbar is only updated once a quarter(ish) - so that wont show changes, but your SERPS should update within a few days.
Seriously? Months? Presumably if I have PR6 backlinks, Google should look at those on a reasonably regular basis? In what circumstances would it take months?
No general rules Depens of the crawls of the page where your link is. Relevant page + High PR => quick Crawl Directory page + low PR = > slow crawl When your link is noticed you can see changes or no in your rankings , depends of the quality of the link and your own ranking on the anchor of the link ( easier to go from 100 to 50 than from 2 to 1 )
If google sees that links as unnatural links it might devalue them and you might not see any effect at all. It also depends on your niche...
damn this is bad news for me i have just fixed my link exchange because it was down for a few weeks (lost all my good links!)
I've seen it as fast as 24 hours and as slow as months. With good spread like certain type of press releases or blogger promotions it can be really really fast. Google especially seems to have a 'newsworthyness' ranking boost for such type of links.
