Hey, I just thought about how much spam should receive the person who owns the domain www.mydomain.com
Its a trade off I know, but I've figured the people who aren't smart enough to visit the Contact Us page and read the info there aren't the kind of people I want to recieve emails from. I don't think your average websurfer would know that you could send off emails to various names @ a domain anyway.
That's a good point too. In fact from my experience only spammers send emails to such addresses like (if you didn't use this address anywhere else, of course) It may be a good idea to allow email to be sent to few addresses only, like , , etc. and block the rest..
lol yeah trust me get more than my share of emails I wished I wouldn't have gotten. Where the error lies though that I've had problems with lets say instead they typod and put , , etc I run mostly retail sites which people tend to get pissy on if you don't get back to them very quickly, even if it's their fault 'the customer is always right'
I point most of my domain emails to one gmail account. In that account I get about 100 per day. Google filters about 90+% automatically and the rest I see and report. Usually 10 or less. They always pick up around the holidays though.
I get a ridiculous amount of spam, but........... thats my fault I guess. I need to go through the lot and unsubscribe
I've seen some very funny ones at work in tickets. Whole stories about people's hamburgers just to get around spamfiltering. Good to read but that's it.
