How much space does youtube have? They have lot of videos.I wish to have a video sharing website but how can i get so much space? How do they maintain this?Do they add new servers?
Hit up rackspace (I believe that is where they started) if you want to get started, but like everyone said Google is in control and as we all know Google controls the universe.
Lol, yeah Google controls the Milky Way, so they have 12093420942341228423486724309234987 petabytes. Rapidshare has 4 Petabytes of storage, imagine the number and sizes of files they host.
LoL.. thx for the wikipedia reference... and they should have countless of petabytes or whatever comes after them
The next step would be exabytes, and thats relatively a lot of space! I said relatively because I find it amusing how storage space measuring has evolve in the past years and how we perceive it, I still remember how my 800 megabytes hard drive among my friends was a total "WOW thats a lot of space" (and expensive I may add) and after that 1.2 gigabytes was another big "HOLY MOLY!" ah ah ah not to mention going a little further back in time where we were dealing with kilobytes, and just take a look at todays RAM requirements, some kid at a store were complaining that their rig had just 1 gig of ram, I got a little tear on my cheek when I thought of my old pc with 8 mega of ram, that was blazing fast back in the day. Now I feel that my almost 2 terabytes are just "MEH!" beside feeling older myself
i lol'd. the oldest computer i remember was in 1997, when our family got our first computer. i dont remember its exact specs but i bet it was pretty good for its time, cause it cost like 2k dollars.
yeah, that was time for windows 95 btw, i just got my own pc late in 2000 and it cost me about usd1497. but, till now still in good condition
LOL The first hard disk i got was a 40Mb connor drive i got for my cutting-edge AT 286 machine way back in 1989 (or was it 90?).
