How much should you charge for marketing and seo?

    Hi,
What are usual rates for SEO and online internet marketing. I normally charge £150-£350 ($200 to $400).

However, I'm now getting way too much work to handle myself but i still don't get enough money to hire another expert in SEO, internet marketing, etc - so i'm starting to think i may have underpriced.

How much do you think is a reasonable price to charge for internet marketing on a monthly basis?

    • How much should it cost for SEO services?
    • How much should it cost for PPC campaigns?
    • How much should it cost for Complete internet marketing (SEO, social networking advertising, PPC campaigns, online viral marketing, etc?

Do you think £150-£350 is too low? If so what would be more reasonable?

That's a loaded question, all depends on your level of experience and what type of previous goals you have established that can be shown to a client.

From experience I have seen rates from $55.00 - $325.00 an hour. So if your charging for $200 - $400 a month that might be low or it could be based on non-measurable goals. Who knows?

SEO services cost whatever the client is willing to pay, do you have a client list that a potential client can contact that will tell them "ya he took us from #29 in google to #1 for these keywords" If you have that then the sky's the limit.

PPC Campaign's I have seen people work on nothing but % of the sale if they are real good and they know they can turn a profit and the client is doing 20K + a month in adwords so it's worth it for them.

No matter what you charge it's all dependent on what kind of results you can show or have a portfolio to show a potential client. Who's going to pay top dollar for someone that can't show results in the past? That's why most people start low to get work and get well known beforehand.

Yep, just as Kracow said, it depends on what your time is worth. If you are new and testing the field at other peoples expense, you probably aren't worth very much. If you have lots of experience and confident in your abilities to generate real sales, then you are probably quite valuable. You might look ath ow much time you think you will need to invest to achieve a goal set out as well. SEO for competitive keywords costs much more than those that aren't expensive at all.

Why does the local barber command $10 a cut and the celebrity stylist $1,000

It all depends on your own skill set and what you can offer your customer.

Because so many are stupid enough to pay that much for a "style," when it is basically the same with a barber.

x-termin8or, are YOU on page one of a search using the most popular keywords?

Yes, you can see my SEO results here:

    http://www.impliweb.com/seo/seo-portfolio.php

And my most recent client has got to the first page of "Roofing Company London", "Roofing Company Essex", "Roof Repairs London" and loads of other keywords related to Roofing. I did this in around 4 months. And he is also on the first page of Yahoo (no.1 position) for "Roofing Company".

I have more results but some clients don't want me to say that i do SEO work for them... but anyway as you can see i think my results are quite good (or at least decent anyway) and i'm pretty confident in what i can do in terms of SEO...
