I run a popular football blog about my team Nottingham Forest. I have recently come across a '3dcityground' site which was made 3 years ago but doesn't need updating anymore. It's at www.3dcityground.com I would like to buy it and the owner is willing to sell it. It gets on average 500 unique visitors a month but I'm not sure on what sort of offer to make. It was just a starter for this guy's virtual designs site and he doesn't need it really anymore although it is useful. What sort of offer should I make? Thanks, any advice would be great
I would go with whatever the domain price for 3 years + hosting price for 3 years + 20% of his labor at least to manage the site. If you are getting the content I would add 20% more to the 3 year domain and hosting price. But thats just my opinion. There might be other ways to measure it. Let us know how much you end up paying.
Since the site is new and the google backlink is only less than 1k. Then the price should be around $60-$100
If you know "he doesn't need it really anymore although it is useful", I think you should contact him.
I would say it has very little real-world value. If you have the money to risk, make a very small offer. Be sure he is going to allow you to transfer the site to your own host so you do not end up paying him more through inflated hosting charges. As far as page rank and backlinks are concerned, I never put much weight into those. I run a site with a PR1 and very few backlinks. So, just based on that, how much would you say it is worth...?
