How much should I charge?

A friend referred me to an online retailer in search of an inhouse Link Builder/Buyer for their SEO department. I'm no pro at this but have worked for an SEO firm doing this for two weeks and have figured that it's not rocket science. On the contrary, I found it to be simple, somewhat tedious, repetitive, routine work.

I was referred by my friend because he knows I have experience with the internet in general and run a few websites on my own. To be honest though, beyond the two weeks I worked at the SEO firm I've never done much SEO work for my own websites, just simple link exchanges if that even counts. Regardless, as I've stated, it's link building and buying which both happen to be very simple overall concepts.

As of today, I'm hired... but I have one dilemma. I have no idea how much I should charge. He told me to get back to him and let him know how many hours I would like to work per week and how much I would like for my work. Although he was originally seeking an inhouse employee we agreed that I will work from home and occasionally come into the office.

According to my short little summary here about myself and the job, what should be my approximate hourly rate? Keep in mind I live in Los Angeles, CA and the current minimum wage here is $8.00/Hour.

    Looking forward to your replies!
    Thanks in advance!

    I would say 25 hours a week at $18/hour.
