The user wants a custom search script with:

    Search Script
    -Personal db with all data
    -Spiders/Crawlers - using 4-5 ips
-Fast page loads, less cpu load.
    -Suggestions for searches
    -Categories of search
    -images
    -shopping
    -blogs
    -webstate (searching dp sales)
-api availably, for people to use my site for their searches
    -seo compatible like: domain.com/search/word here
-user system - to use more features

    -more features:

    saving searches
    api id

however I have no idea what to charge, I feel the 100USD he is offering is low for the next Google!

    I'd say $250 minimum.

How many hours do you think it'll take for you to complete it? You should make atleast a minimum of $20 an hour ;)

There will be a lot more after you take the job, so I think a little overcharging let’s say for $50 will make you happier after you face the situation of the requirements for the additional search features. :)

if u have to do everything from scratch u should certainly charge him nothing less than 250$, but if u have the codes u can go in for 170-200$.

But its ur effort and ur future money :D, so u gotta make the call ;)

Go for $250. Then you can refund me the $120/£60 you still owe me that you're ignoring my PM's and emails about.

This truly sounds like a big job. So unless you have some templates pre-made, you should charge at least 250 as others suggested.

Why don't you charge a fixed minimum to start with say $250 for certain hours of work. Any work that exceeds that time you charge by the hour or something like that. I don't think a fixed model is gonna work. You have to have a combinatin of fixed + stepped variable mode.
