How much should I charge ?

    Hi guys,

Planning to sell a really unique product on the market and I think, well, I prefer the price to be around 29-35$. How much would I normally have to pay to affiliates ($/%) and which affiliate networks in your opinion are the best for registering as a merchant ?

Any BAD reputation aff/merchant networks to avoid maybe ?

    Thanks in advance.

75% payout at Clickbank might get it some attention. Is it digital or a physical product.

Yes, you pay 75% commission. Keep in mind thay your affiliate will be spending money on advertising via PPC probably. Also, $29-35 is a fairly low price point. Most affiliates won't bother with something unless it's a commission of at least $20+ (this will vary). So when you named your price point, you must have a 70-75% commission to hit an affiliates minimum payout. Do you want to get paid 100% based on your efforts, or 25% based on the efforts of dozens or hundreds of others?

Further wisdom. You need to market it yourself profitably and refine your conversion page systematically. Also, you can find the most profitable price point for your product. If you can't make money when you get 100% how can an affiliate be expected to make money off it. Affiliates will expect a package of tools to promote it with; keyword lists, banner ads, etc.

    Good luck.

75 % is too much, that mean if i wanna keep my origin profit the price should be * 3!

Yep, 75% is proven as an attractive offer to most affiliates.
While you can extend the ratio, you would also put a twist where if x referral the commision will be 35%, xx referral will earn 55% and xxx referral will earn 75%. but you need a powerful product to pull something like this though.

Yeah, regarding what Proxy.. says, you can do something other than 75% if you have a great selling product. But you don't know what you have yet. It has to get off the ground first, but if it is dynamite, then you can change your payout percentage possibly.

Thanks for your answers guys. GhengisKhan, your statement about making 25% with no effort is very logic, I do agree, i was just surprised cause I will defenetely need to increase the price and I'm thinking now wheather I should keep the price low and get sales only from my own ads or should I try to get sales mainly from affiliates...
I can't guarantee affiliates will take this offer, right... the market is absolutely non-competitive, I am sure this product is the first like this on the entire internet.

You should choose the highest price that converts well. You are talking about choosing the price. That is a mistake. You should plan on testing the price, and using the price that generates the most profit. Let the market determine the price.

"I find the right people for the job and I pay them well". A Quote from a teen who set up her own business following the death of her abusive father and is now a millionaire.

if you want to be stiff with your commissions people wont promote.

Remember there is a cost of promotion and if someone stands to only make $10 a sale then with costs cutting that down to $6-7 would there be much point? if you where an affiliate you wont go with the highest payout per sale product you could find to offeset costs.

Yeah UnmaskedCPA, I get you and understand everybody else.

Alright guys, once again thanks, I will try to cope with this.

Another things, if I may ask - have any of you tried to find people by yourself (not submittinf products as merchants), but let's say on DP and hiring them to actually be your affiliates and you set a price (of course in this case less than 75%) and working with that 1 or 2 or even 10 people for their cuts ?

How much would that be possible and is there anyone who tried finding partners like this ?

    Thank you for your answers.
