How much should I charge for links?

    Hey everyone,
I am thinking about selling links on www.freetvlinks.net , above the YPN ads. The site currently gets about 3,000 uniques, 16,000 pageviews per day. Most visitors are returning visitors. Alot of the traffic is from social networking sites, such as stumbleupon or digg. However, now I am getting decent traffic from links on forums, blogs, SEs, etc.. The site is predicted Pr 4. What would be a fair price to sell links(daily, weekly, monthly)?

    Thanks!

Depends how much people would like to pay. If you don't have PR it would be difficult to sell links.

The site is new, so its 3 mos. avg. is off. The 1 week avg. is 30,741. A couple days last week, it was under 20k. As far as PR, when it updates, it should be at least pr 4. Any ideas on how much I should charge?

    Thanks!

Alexa 200.000 fits roughly with 3000 a day (comparable to my own site, which is in that range as well).

In regard to the first question about links-

In My Thoughts, the more links there the less to charge. If there is only one link, make it about 10$/week. If youve got 10 links crammed in there, 3$/week.

def. wouldnt pay 10/ week for a site like this. You might get 150/yr or something along those lines.

With no PR, the value is mostly advertising --> 0.1$/Clic.
Try adbrite.com, to measure market price for your audience.

Improve your PR first then sell your links once you have PR6 and above.

Thanks everyone for the input! Ill probably start selling links sometime this week. As far as PR goes, I was thinking more for selling the links for traffic, but my site is predicted PR 4, and is getting many links on good sites and blogs.

I'm not saying that one shouldn't try to get backlinks from websites having low PR but begging for (or paying for) and getting a backlink from a PR6 is much better than getting 100 backlinks from websites with PR5 and less.

Yes. Obviously one must not ignore relevancy. A link from, say, an online dating website with PR10 won't be doing much good for, say, a paintball site unless it is a site where paintballers meet and date each others.

You seem to be a little to indulged in TBPR. Its really not worth worrying over like that. Go after links on sites that are authoritative in nature and very relevant to your site. Forget about PR. Its really really really overrated in todays "game".

Nope that not correct! it might be that you get 3000 hits everyday, but not that many visitors. Believe me, I was as low as 52000 in per day, but even I didn't got 3000 visitors.

Why don't you try to run an auction on the link sales forum, that'll give you a good idea of the value of your links.
