hi I have just started some forums. I have a dormain its forums4hardwear.com. it will be working in 1 or 2 days my current adress for my forums is lachlanlindsay.x10hosting.com as you can see I have know members exept one compleat random. so how much will it cost me to get my forums up to say 1000 members through advertising not including the cost of hosting
I didn't click on your site but I assume its a hardware site ? like computers? well there is a lot of tech forums out there so I would really try to grow your forum organic well alot of it organic and maybe buy some....I would start buy building a rep on some of the bigger tech boards and then slowly work your forum into your sig and have helpful answers to the posters. As far as how much it will cost? its way too broad to give a figure like that but if you want to super boost it to 1000 it will take quite a bit of $$$ because it is pretty hard to get ppl to sign up for things
Hi, a rough estimate would be at least 1500$. i would suggest trying to go with Organic SEO and not adwords. just have a site/blog with quality content next to the forums and users will come eventually.
People often stumble accross forums not through adwords advertising but by typing a question into google and finding an answer on a forum. What I suggest you do is actually create some fake users and make some posts asking yourself questions and then answering them with another account. Join other forums similar to your own topic and answer questions there too. You'll get plenty of ideas as to what kind of fake posts you can put up in your own forum and you can also use those other forums to advertise your own in your sig. Another place to consider would be yahoo answers or answers.com, these are other places where you can help a community and direct visitors to your forum. If you have lots of friends who would be interested in using your forum, make sure you tell them too.
k well Im going to make up some fake users. the blog that Bose with my forum will mostly just be news related to my forum and HOPEFULY some post from other members can any one tell me what www.ipodtouchfans.com are useing for there blog and how do I make a recent thread list like there's I'm useing phpbb3
I think getting forum members is a hard option because people are looking for help on a subject and the answer may not be in a new forum that has no discussions, therefore provides no value. Why would they want to sign to your new forum? This is the main question. Is there help or advice on there that does not exist in other well established places? If so, then you may be able to market to those people with those questions. But I think if you successfully targeted your campaigns around topics that did exist in your forums and linked properly within adwords, that search volume would be virtually nothing. Maybe a few clicks here and there, but nothing solid. But to answer your question, you want 1,000 members to sign up Well if we assumed you had a 1% conversion ratio, numbers may look like this depending on avg CPC Here is the math 100 / conv% * avg cpc * 1,000 members = total estimated costs Examples 100 / 1 * .01 * 1000 = $1,000 100 / 1 * .10 * 1000 = $10,000 100 / 1 * .50 * 1000 = $50,000 If you had a 10% conv ratio 100 / 10 * .01 * 1000 = $10 100 / 10 * .10 * 1000 = $1,000 100 / 10 * .50 * 1000 = $5,000 Here is some insight for you. 0.01 avg cpc will probably be impossible to get. Avg CPC will probably be somewhere around 0.30 per click assuming your are very niche on your keywords. Average lead conversion, assuming your keywords are targeted, will probably be in the 10% range So final projection is 100 / 10 * .30 * 1000 = $3,000 So I would say $2,000 is optimal, $3,000 is target and $5,000 is worse case
