I run a entertainment website with various videos. I’ve made about 600.000 page views in the last 3 months. How much should I be earning with adsense?
I really don't think there's an exact answer to that; especially not with the information you've given, there are loads of variables to consider... Colm
Hmm... Let me hazard a guess: 200,000 impressions per month, a click through rate of 1%, and a cost per click around $0.1, equals 2,000 clicks and $200 per month. And that's probably being optimistic! Cryo
Well, please end the suspense and do let us know how much you are earning from adsense. My guess is that the only reason you are asking is because the earnings are probably pathetic. A lot of people that have very low earnings from huge amount of impressions start similar threads.
I’m asking it because I feel I can do better and not because my revenues are pathetic. I was looking for experts advise about it as I’ve seen here many times.
Then search the forum and stop wasting everyone's time with this cryptic nonsense. If you think you can make more then chances are you can make more, figure out how by testing. Colm
I would also try to add more text.. I mean.. with videos that don't really pay attention to ads now do they? Atleast with text content you can sneak in the adsense ads in there.
Others here already said that it's bit difficult to say how much you should be earning. There are questions such as: - Where did you place your ads? If you use just Adsense, is it possible for you to place ads before/end of each video? - Can you use Adbrite to sell links to other locations? - Can you use Textlinkads or sell links directly to footer or some other places? - Have you considered selling links/ads directly? - Some sites have CPM rates around $1 (which would mean that you should be earning around $300 per month), while some sites charge $10 or even more (which would mean $3000+ per month). - Since you have a video site, could you launch pop-unders (or some other annoying ads )? I'm not saying it's necessarily a good option, but it's an option alright. If you decide to stick with Adsense, then perhaps you need to focus on what John already mentioned: work on your ad placement and ad blending/colors/etc..
70,000+ unique visitors a month is a very good number. You should be getting a steady amount of earnings from the website. If you promote the placement of your Google Ads and make them prominent on your site, you should be earning anywhere between $1500 to $3000 from adsense only. Other affiliate programs can further increase earnings from the site.
Thanks everyone who tried to help. I’m sorry for the delay in my answer, it’s Carnaval here in Brasil Which other affiliate programs would you suggest? Each case is a case. If you think the topic is waste of time, you shouldn’t bother answering and being so rude. Just ignore it and be happy. - I already use adsense before and after the videos. It’s on then I’ve got most clicks. - I don’t know Adbrite, I’ll take a try. - I did but think would be difficult to find anyone interested. - Improving my eCPM is what I’m trying. - Pop under? How would that work?
