This consists of : Logo, Letterhead, Business Cards, Envelope design, Some minor web graphics.

What would you say is the average price for all of this?

There is no "set price" but I usually pay $600 for logo then $200 - 300 for print then $750+ for a Web design.

As much as it can possibly pay. The more you spend the more serious you will be taken.

It depends really on how big you want your branding to become.

I'm actually the designer. The company is asking for what price I brand things. I've never worked freelance (always through other people that payed me by the hour) so I'm not familiar with exact job prices.

If it helps, I generally pay $35/hr for a designer.

Be visible through online by increasing your domain visibility.

my dads company charge £150-£250 an hour for branding.

so the over all price depends on how much work needs to be done.
its often into the tens of thousands tho

Tens of thousands? I don't think so.

Take a look around sitepoint if you want more ideas for prices.

well i can promise you i didnt make that number up.

there is no set price for branding it depends on your skills.

my dads company is quite high up, which explains why it does work for huge companies

Yeah, I know of web design/branding done for $32,000 at my local Chamber of Commerce's website. The result was terrible as well.

But this is a small business that's asking, I can't really ask for much.

If you want to figure out what to charge, take your hourly rate when you did this for a company. Add 50% since you're a freelancer, and they're always more than an employee. Figure out how long it will take. When calculating the time, pad it for changes, etc. You will not get it the way they want it the first time. Multiply hours by rate.

Don't undersell yourself or your skills. If they're expecting to pay $700, and you tell them $200, you're just as unlikely to make the sale as if you said $7,000. Give them an honest assessment of how much it will cost, at a reasonable rate, as if you were a professional. If they can't afford you, find someone that can. Or, negotiate a price they're more comfortable with. Just don't let them talk you down to the point where you're getting screwed.
