How much of your traffic do you get from Directories?

This is what I think as well. It's better than nothing, but all the same isn't of huge value. Personally if I started over again I don't think I would bother with them as I haven't gotten much traffic using them at all.

 

The most important thing is finding sites that have good rankings. You get a small percentage of their ranking if its high enough.

I think directory submission is the fastest method as well as the cheapest method to procure one way links. Its wise to check the PR of the directory before submitting your link.If you submit your site to relevant and authority ones,you will get good results.

Submitting just for backlink dont make much sense as the cost is high its better promoted by home page host,ads and quality content then directory

 

Yes directory's are not giving you the traffic but it's only for creating some backing to you website and help's get more visible on the search engine's. But somehow it's same as getting the traffic.

For sure, making backlinks to web directory is important to get visitors. But for me i focus my visitors from search engine not from web directory because will give my website in a high ranking when i have so many backlinks in the web directories.

 

Around 70% of my traffic comes from directories. I do affiliate marketing and average a few hundred a month from it. However its building up and i hope to average around $500 a month a few years down the road.

I don't think directories is useful these days. I am getting only 8 to10 traffic from directories like ontoplist and blogtoplist. I am going to try dmoz very soon. Hope it will serve better.
