This is weird, google analytics shows I get 32% from yahoo, 20% from google and 14% from msn. I know where I rank in google and msn for my keywords but have never found my site in yahoo. Maybe I should check to see what keywords they're using to find my site in yahoo... Anyway, I haven't seen anybody report traffic from aol, I get like 4% from them.
google / yahoo and msn came out with this http://www.sitemaps.org/ and from what im hearing they are trying to make all their bots to a standard so if you get into top 10 lets say on google you will get in to top 10-20 or so on yahoo and msn and so on. the problem with traffic differences from different search engines is that they all have different things that they are looking for. ex: one of my pages was #1 on google and #439 on yahoo. I made some SEO changes 2 weeks later the same page was #243 on google but #2 on yahoo. i cant wait till this comes out this is y you get good traffic from one search engine and less from another soon that will all be over
try this site http://www.googlerankings.com/ get a google API its free and it will help and you can check any keyword you can think of and your site it will search the 1st 1000 results and tell you where your site is at. it helped me a lot hope you find it helpful.
0% I am not getting much traffic from SE only 8 % from Google, the other 92% is coming from backlinks / direct traffic and other stuff
hey does google analytics really work?????? wow but it takes about an hour to open up here that not so good stats. Looks like they have no importance to speed and numerical stats.
MSN is left behind and even if they now invent the best algo they will still have trouble getting Google users
Looks to me like I am going to buck the trend here again. I currently get about 50% from MSN for my sites and about 30% Google and 20% from Yahoo. I don't know how or why but my sites seemed to be sandboxed by both Google and yahoo for approx 5 months and MSN picked them up right away. I am now starting to get some decent traction from Google and Yahoo but it took forever.
some month ago i found 60% traffic from MSN but now i received 5% traffic from MSN and 80% from google and yahoo. i think MSN have changed something in their search engine
Google 65.1 % Yahoo 15 % Unknown search engines 13.8 % MSN 4.7 % AOL 0.5 % MetaCrawler (Metamoteur) 0.2 % Dogpile 3 0.1 % AltaVista 0.1 %
