Im trying to determine if Im spending too much or too little on my sites each month. Any money I make from my websites is extra income, I don't need it as I have a full time job. So should I put 100% of my earning back into my sites or is that wasteful? How much do you put back into your site and how much do you keep?
Depends alot on the site. After I do my initial spending for all my sites I never put anything back in. With the exception of maybe I will run a contest. But sites that are dependant on advertising/adwords/ect. most of the people probably put some back in.
I'm still dumping everything plus some, and probably will be doing it for a long time. Think about tomorrow, not today.
With the PPC campaign I am running now, I put about 90% back in. I keep some just to see something from all the work. If you spend $10 to get $20, why not do that continuosly? $20 to $40 and so on and so forth. Eventually you will be spending $XX,XXX to get even higher $XX,XXX, then 10% is a substantial amount.
I must say with all my online ventures I alwasy put back in for the first year or two at least. If you make in a month, obviously pay off all the site expenses and debts (if any), then put some money back into it for either expanding/improving, or if the site is already the way you want it, spend some money on advertising and promotion. And then use whatever is left to take the wife to a nice dinner
In the beginning 100% ... then 90%... 80% ... you get the idea. SOmetimes it depends on the business model you run.
Same here, i suppose this is the way to go if you are still small compared to most people here. (don't know if you are md but i am)
My theory is to make the most out of the ppc while they are still relatively cheap. If I find a good niche advertisment that is not being exploited by anyone else then I pour more resources in it. Heavy competion adverts I have a shorter string.
