Assuming a website has good traffic, how does a banner ads like 800 x 100 ads put on the top of the website differ to text-based adsense in term of revenue it gives us? Is it many times more expensive per click? Thanks for your input.
If the banner ads are good; good means it's tempting enough to produce a click. Is it that easy!!! I really don't have any idea in this regard.
I went to text link style for 1 week. Man did my income taker a plunge. Back to banner style and hey presto!
i agree may be because of 2 reasons: 1. banners are more tempting and hense bound to get few clicks 2. a single banner takes up to 3 ad-space so you actully get more than what you get for a single text ad click
I think the answer to this question would really depend on your market and audience. Many users suffer from "banner blindness", which is a phenomenon where they become "immune" to banner ads and don't even see (register) them, based on a constant barrage of ads. In these circumstances, I would think that text ads would perform better. Sam
Have you ever created text ads for CPA campaigns. They tend to perform better than banners and can have a higher payout.
Not necessary in general banner ads are always more costy than the text ads for a particular keyword.
Yeah, I didn't mean to imply that banner ads are no longer viable - they do typically have higher payouts than text ads, and if they were no longer viable, they would no longer exist. But if no one is clicking on your banner ads, you're not going to make any money from them - regardless of how high the payouts are. Sam
If thats the case it stays same with an text ad. No Clicks No Money!!! With Adsense its Adsense who decides which ad to be displayed and not publisher then how can you make any predictions about the clicks received. i feel its a sort of a blind game!! can go any way!
Not necessarily true. While "banner blindness" is a pretty well established phenomenon, there's no indication or evidence that text ads suffer from the same affliction. Whether visitors are going to notice your ads, or simply ignore them, is an important part of developing an advertising strategy. Just my opinion, of course... Sam
there is one negetive effect that can come up is if there is no banner ad running which match your site theme, you might end up receiving ads of some thing oftheme products which will obviously yeild 0 clicks.
It really varies on how much you test and improve on your ads. Be it banner or text you can get very high results from both of them but you always need to be tweaking and improving on them. So there's no "best" one. They both make people a LOT of money everyday.
Text ads get more clicks. I rarely click on banner ads. However, I do pay attention to text ads and if they are interesting enough, I may take the bait.
