I'm going to do some research so i need to know how much money you spend each month and what you spend it on?
It's really not a good question to ask on an open forum. Create a poll (not this forum poll, but your own, private) so that people could submit their answers anonymously. You can come up with all kinds of questions (broad, specific, serious, funny, etc.). 1. Your results will be more specific and accurate 2. You will end up engaging more people
You should also ask about how much money people are making! I'd love to know if paying more each month is generally correlated with making more!
Qwikad is right about surveys in open forums. And, it will be really hard to get real numbers from anyone, anyway. I mean, I might want to help, but figuring out where the monthly budget goes would be a monumental task for me. I could cite the big, constant expenses (mortgage, tuition bills, taxes, etc.) but that's about it. Even my wife, who handles the finances for us would be hard-pressed to tell me where the money goes (and don't think that I haven't asked many times before.)
I agree with @qwikad.com. Moreover you need to specify the 'why are you doing this survey and the purpose behind it.'
