It may be impolite to ask this question, but if you are willing to answer, please let me know your honest answers. 1. How much money do you make from your directory per month? 2. How many months/years it took for you to reach that level? 3. How much time you have to devote for directory maintenance and marketing? Thanks for your answers ! It will help me and others like me to decide whether to go for this option to make money on the net.
None of your god damn business? im only joking. Can i ask where your from sikandar? im always amazed at how forward people are on a forum to ask other people what they earn. How much do you earn currently in the line of work that you do sikandar? Ok, now il give you the honest answers that you requested. 1. Im not going to tell you, but its embarrassingly low considering that i live in one of the most expensive countries to live in, in the world. 2. I simply haven't reached a level with my directories that im proud of yet, either with income of standard of overall service, honest huh? lol 3. Im not sure exactly how much time i devote as i have 4, plus plenty of other projects to deal with.
You may be Joking pipes but your right, in all honesty and I don't wish to offend but it really is none of anybodies business except the dreaded tax man. I was amazed to see someone post their revenue here yesterday, mind you the guy was totally legitimate so it mattered little but I for one wouldn't disclose my income if any would you?
pipes, swedal ... thanks for your answers. Well, it is ok if you are not willing to share. I just posted this question to learn about the economics in running a directory - and thought it may help others too. There are many Internet marketing forums where people share such kind of information - so I thought it was normal. May be I was wrong.
there is other places to share, you can share here also, but people are shy of the low amount they make, the ones who make really big money is the ones who don't even think to reply to your thread. A small directory may get you thousands if you rely on selling links and premium links, also some ads wont hurt anyone, if you have a good page rank you will get rich, if you sell permanent links you will get thousands of buyers. but don't forget that you have also to offer free links with link back to your directory and this is how you get advertised and you get link backs. here is a simple directory of mine: http://www.diropia.com Script used: http://www.phplinkdirectory.com/articlescript/index.php best regards
You're not going to make money on the internet if you don't have your own plan or a skillset. These threads are getting ridiculous.
100% agreed. You need to follow your own advice which should be different & stand out from the crowd to Make Money Online.
You're doing this out of service, which is the way it should be done. Respect ----------------- Wissam, Yeah, I guess some make a lot, but that's from one-time fees only. Selling sponsored links is harder, as the advertiser knows the listing's only going to last for 12 months, then they have to renew it. That means they expect the link for life, which is too much to ask or hope for.
this question might be rude but it also can be encouraging thread for people who just start the directory. if you are not willing to share your income, maybe you can share us the thing we need to do to increase the directory income instead.
1. Anywhere between $1 and $100 2. 7 months before it hit 2 figures 3. Very little, less than an hour a week
reasons why that won't happen: A. Information on what made themselves successful, took years to learn, so why should they just give it away. B. Many aren't here to help anybody, there are other reasons involved. C. You may be the competition! D. Forums don't really teach anything, they give the illusion of a place of learning. You can pick up some linking tips - sure, but that's about it, forums aren't for education. In my years on various forums, I've only ever seen one main useful post/tip, and that advice exists in many different forms, different slants and likely now full of misinformation or hasn't been put into practise - period. Because of that, I, like many others, now won't waste time giving advice, as I know it won't be followed for these reasons: 1. The webmaster doesn't have the guts 2. No cashflow to put it into action 3. Business idea is so useless, this advice simply wouldn't work no matter how much cash is pumped into it. 4. Conflict stops flow of ideas and advice 5. Ego gets in the way of business progress Point 2: Many thousands is needed to make this work properly - and the websites suggested on forums that offer this service, are a joke and worthless. I always take what I read on forums with a large pinch of salt, the real gold advice is never truly revealed, and there's always a reason for that. Like someone said earlier, the folks with the real ideas won't give advice or even come on forums.
