The hacker or the scammer, does not know wht money you have in ur paypal, so if u have 1 or 10000 u will get robbed. so what i recommend is not to publish ur paypal id, every where, just mention it to people you know

Do not keep anymore in there than you'd like to lose. I had a little pile in there once (over $6000) and PayPal froze my account because they said the money was earned too quickly and thought it was gained through illegal methods (which it wasn't).

The point is that there was a time there where I wasn't sure I was going to get my money....ever.

I would say as much as you want. If your Paypal account is verified, you should have no worries. No one should steal your money - Paypal is secure.

Paypal is safe ? this is certainly NOT the opinion of eBay sellers in Australia. If you check out eBay community forums you will read many horror stories regarding paypal.
I have not had a major problem with Paypal my self But I have had some small ones and any form of meaningfull communication with them is difficult at best.
IMHO if you do business with paypal its only a matter of time before you will have some sort of problem.
Of course most of the problems may be related to eBay or to the fact that we are in Australia and paypal are in the USA. BUT also most banks are in this difficult economic times gauranteed by the goverment
Paypal is not a Bank !
Anyway its my advise that you keep a minimum of money in paypal and keep the bulk of your money in your bank account.

It's safe not to keep more than $1K in it. Accounts may get blocked for security checks which involve a lot of trouble.

    Ok, Here is a question.
Can someone hack our paypal account?
if someone know my pw of paypal accounts and transfer the money to his own account, in this case, I can recover the password with the help of my email ID.
I will then open a dispute regarding that payment. Then how my paypal account can be hacked. please anyone explain it.

Well I don't think so it will be PayPal's mail ID. Beware about it, it's may be Phishing id and just sent to PayPal.
