My NsaneBlog made almost $70 in 8 months since it was released. Is that good or bad?

How much does your blog make?

Realistically, any blog getting decent traffic should get at least $1-$2 a day. If one of my blogs doesn't make that much after a bit of promotion, I drop it.

My blogs doesn't make revenue for me. I had 2 other sites that make $3 - $6 per day.

Wow from reading that list I can tell you that blogging is not very lucrative considering how much time those people put into their sites. I think however, most people blog in the hope that maybe just maybe they will strike it rich, kind of like playing the lottery. They will say, "this article I am writing now could make me a lot of money in the future."

I think most people blog because they enjoy it. Only a tiny fraction of them are doing it for cash

Personally I haven't had much luck with blogs...I'm finding things a lot easier with actual websites - everyone just seems to take you a little more seriously if you own a domain etc

That's why a blog should get it's own domain from the start. I used a subdomain(on one of my site) then move it to it's own domain in August. I lost my PR3 by doing that but I have a few more clicks now. I would prefer to get more readers too.:p

But like story97 mentioned, many don't do it for the money. If you can make some money, then good for you.

Also, Adsense is not the only way to make money with a blog. I added a paid Blog Directory category with an affiliate program on 1 Cool File because I'm a blogger too and wanted others to make passive income from their blog. ;) Because I have to validate each one to see if it's a real blog, I find and will find gems.:D

In my case, I would not blog for an empty hand because it is a great amount of effort I put in it. It might be for leisure but usually it eats my time. I am pretty busy, so I do take blogging very seriously especially when there are earnings involved.

That is good compared to mine. Might give up on Adsense when I reach the $100 check.

Please learn how to use the edit button. You'll start getting red reps & infractions for excessive postings if you don't.

I'm glad you figured out it was Adsense, as this is the adsense forum. ;)

It's not about PR, so don't believe the people that say it is. It's about [quality] traffic and the returns on investments made to get that traffic.

However, if someone is only making $200 or so a month from adsense on a PR6 site, they may wish to look into selling text links or other ad networks/affiliate programs to replace Google, as there is a good chance they are not living up to their full potential.

You likely got banned for breaking their ToS, if that is the case, then I'm sure the hate is mutual. Then again, you could be one of the unlucky few that didn't deserve to be banned ;)

Again, please learn how to use the edit button...

Two good points there. I have the baby boomer repeat traffic, which is nice, and they do click, but the revenues have been short. Somedays I wonder if I'll make $1 - other days I'll make $12. As I said, I'm rather clueless about optimizing AdSense so far (why I'm here  ).

Trying to sell textlinks now from Adbright at $5 per day. I figured, if nothing else, they get a decent backlink if up for awhile.
