I was just curious, as there are only a couple places on here that show ads. It's good, not overwhelming. Just wondering about a rough estimate....6 figures/yr.? 7 or 8 figures? It's a good size board. I would think you guys do pretty well. Keep up the good work and thanks for the site!

    i'd estimate 50k/mo

As far as i know, they are the only rev sharing forum.

So many forums make so much cash off their users, and never give back. :)

I read somewhere Bubba Shawn makes like $12,000-$14,000 with AdSense...not sure if that was true or not.

I'd guesstimate that he makes at least $100,000-$125,000 per month. :)

You guys are all crazy... last month revenue for the forum was a whopping $6,122.84 for 6,466,998 page views (that's before expenses of course). So that's "5 figures" a year.

A forum is not a money making venture.

Yes but what is your grand total monthly for the entire site, not just the forum, Bubba Shawn?

Have you guys forgotten that there still are real businesses out there with *real* products and stuff like that? We would still run the forum (and digitalpoint.com) if there was $0 advertising dollars in it.

Wow, I was so sure that the forum made *eleventy billion dollars*.

Digital Point is a compnay first and foremost, I believe. Digital Point Solutions. Shawn is a business owner/tech whiz who made a forum. I do not think the forum "made" him.

can i ask how much bandwidth you use in a month? also, i know you have your own server, but would you be able to suggest any hosts that would be able to handle a forum this size? if not, what server would you recommend looking into? thanks.

No... a forum this size realistically would need at least 2 dedicated servers (1 for the database and 1 for the web server). Could probably get away with 1 beefy server, but you aren't going to scale much more like that.

I have no idea on hosts, I've co-located my own equipment for about 10 years now, so...

That's still a pretty comfortable net income, considering you love D-P and we all seem to have adsense on the mind somehow. I know i click the ads by google when im bored, not much else to do. So that pack of gum you bought, yeh that was me.

Shawn, how long were you in business before you started the forum? I think I read somewhere why you started it. Too many one sided rules in a different forum?

Were you one of the first to revenue share? Did that make the traffic explode or what?
