I was in the $70/month category for the first... 8 months of running websites... Then slowly climbed up the ranks throughout the next 20 months. Right now I am in the $2500 to $5000 range. I have quit my day job to go at this full time, so I hope to be in the next bracket sometime next year. My advice is: 1. Stick to it! Results take A LONG TIME to see. Don't give up. 2. Create value. I have deviated from this rule a little and it never worked. My long-term strategy is to create sites that are of value to my visitors. A site that people are better off having then not having. 3. Find a strategy that works for you. Mine is to create sites that rank highly in google, provide value to my visitors free of charge, and put adsense or other affiliate links on the pages to generate revenue. Some people find success with bum marketing, PPC, ebooks, flipping sites, etc. I recommend everyone find something they know and enjoy and specialize in it. There are waaayyy too many opportunities on the internet to explore them all.
