How Much Money Can you Make from Video Websites?

I am starting up a new idea I've had regarding tutorial videos for IT and web development, and I am wondering how much money through advertisement I could honestly make? I have a lot of video content to post and I'm going to start out using CaptainAds since they cater to video-style sites. I am just curious how much is possible to make from a site like this. $10 a day? $20? $40? Anybody with previous experience with this type of site should definitely give some input :D

If you created your own tutorial videos, you could make a lot of money!

Here is what I would do...

I would package all of the videos into a membership site and charge a monthly fee for access to the videos.

Of course, you will have to regularly create more useful video tutorials to retain your members, but if you have as much content as you say you do, that shouldn't be a problem. Just drip feed the site with a few new videos per week, and you should have no problem retaining customers.

There are a few different membership site business models. Make sure you do your research to find out which model would work best for you.

It's dysmal. I've had a site up since 2000 and make about $300-350/year through Adsense, 500-600 visitors per day. I've tired selling DVDs with Amazon, and it literally never went anywhere. The best way to go is in-video sponsorships, but I don't know of any way to get this done except through services like Longtailvideo.com, which benefits way too much from your hard work, IMO. In short, PPC ads are not the way to go. I have not figured out the secret to making money with video sites - very few people have.

Video sites are amongst the worst sites to manage - expensive to upkeep (lots of bandwidth) and extraordinarily hard to monetize. I wouldn't consider getting into it unless you have the idea of the century.

BTW, the idea to charge a monthly fee simply will not work - that business model hasnt' worked since the early 2000s - nobody is going to pay for something like this in the web 2.0 era. Remember, like it or not - your biggest competitor will ALWAYS be Youtube. Whatever videos you'll be showing will also be on Youtube in some way shape or form.

Depends how targeted the site audience is, YouTube looses thousands each day but with its integration into their search results in gives them an advantage over their competitors (better search results) if that makes sense.

Frankly, not the most video site get the most income from ads.
Instead, the site that have unique and more latest video will get visitor such as youtube.
Some more you need to take into consideration of server cost.
    For begin,earning $10/month is not a problem.
