    The count of the backlinks are not important, the quality of the backlinks are important.

    You'll be surprised at what Pagerank you might get, wait for an update, it could be anything. My pagerank went from 0 to 4 and that was with 1,400 backlinks.

    Relevancy has a lot to do when it comes to backlinks. Just because you have a bunch does not mean that they will all count positively for you. It's better to have a hand full of high power relevant backlinks than a bunch of random FFA links or auto directory submit links.

    And one more question
    If i have linkbacks to mysite.com/blog/page1.html

    then will it increase the pagerank of mysite.com?

    i think thats right
    in my google webmasters,i have 250 linkbacks to my site
    and in statistics->index stats

    all pageranks are in "not yet assigned"

    I am sure i have enough linkbacks for pr4
    but its not assigned. My site was growing large ,all did in 2 months...does google think my site if scam,if i have 1400 linkbacks in 2 months

    You might have been penalised or your PR simply has not updated yet.

    Having 1100 backlinks will have your site a nice pr with the next update when they are from non spam/banned places.

    Just made a post about it at my blog

    You could easily get PR2 from one or two exceptionally strong PR3 links.

    thru. Had a pr4 from only 1 pr4 backlink. That puzzled me for a long time but the main pr4 had almost no outgoing links and the incoming links were from high authority sites.

    Yep that's how you got that high PR rating, the only problem with having this type of PR is that if you loose that backlink then you're down to PR0 in a split second

    Honestly it's not like that, you just need to wait until PR updates. I have around 50 google indexed backlinks for a PR2 site. Really should try increase that sometime :/

    I think your PR will go up in next update. Don't forget to talk about it again after next update. It is a good reference.
