If you wanna have a blog you can get it free from wordpress, blogger etc. If you wanna have your own domain name you have to pay about $5 for domain name per year + $2 - $5 per month for hosting.

Some hosting companies like godaddy will give you domain for 2.99$ if you buy the hosting from them.

I am not interested in blogging as i dont have time to write articles.

I want to have a site something like www.****.com so that i can promote it well.

What is the current hot niche going now and whether godaddy hosting is good?

    Thanks,
    Ramki

If you don't have time for promotion you will never succeed online. A good domain name is important, but marketing is even more important.

Unfortunately, it is never a "build it and they will come" type of situation. www.**.com would still require some promotion to be as successful as it could be.

    Hi,

I have time for promoting. But the only problem is that i am bit confused as what niche i need to start. As i mentioned i am not interested in starting a blog or writing articles. I just want to know which niche i can stick on to so that during my long process i end up on positive note.

    Please advice.

Do you have an overall strategy - an endpoint that you are trying to get to? You need to have an endpoint in mind before you do anything else, otherwise you will just be spinning your wheels.

After deciding on a strategy, knowing what niche is really the starting point from which all else flows. It makes sense to base your niche on something you already know or are expert in.

If you are just interested in picking any old niche and trying to make money, you need to do your due diligence just like in any other kind of business. Make up a list of keywords that are associated with your niche and google them to see who is also working in that space.

Use Google to find forums related to your subject and post in them and gather information from them.

    Good luck,
    Jim

Get the domain name about $5 a year, small hosting about $15 a year and some articles written up for your niche which could be around $8 per article.

Also pay to get submitted to some directories.

It depends. If you know jack about web design, and have no way of getting it for free, it can cost you hundreds.

On the other hand, you can learn by reading ebooks on the topics, and taking tutorials.

However, it also depends on what type of website, and what CMS you will use.

If you don't know anything about web design, or only know the basics, you can buy decent Joomla templates for under $100, or you can use free ones.

Aside from that, hosting can go as low as under $5/month, and domains $5.99 at Name.com

There's a lot of things to consider in building and starting a website. You should 100% sure with the niche of the site because you'll be promoting and then marketing this site. If you don't know anything about it, everything will be useless. Make a thorough plans and then decide, thinking the cost without this becomes harder.

A website is like a building and your domain is your lot. there are many types of building and building include houses. So website price depends on the number of visitors you are expecting and the overall framework, design and architecture of your site just like a building

    hey!

Cost of domain: $7.15 from godaddy ( after using a discount coupon )
cost of good hosting: $5 per month
cost of web design, content and others vary from $100 to anything of ur budget..

you can infact get started with a bare minimum budget of $5 a month
if u can manage design ur sellf.

If you're a beginner and just starting out,
all you need to do is focus on content and getting quality subscribers to opt in.

rest everything will fall in place, once things get moving..

    hope this helps.

It is certainly not expensive starting and running a website as the others have said. The highest cost is not monetary but your time and effort is spinning articles and promoting your website.

Unless of course, you hire someone to build it and put in content, then it would cost more than necessary.

With a .info domain and freehosting, you can start for as little as $1.
