what do you exactly mean? Are the comments on your website or are you trying to post comments (and build links?)

it depends on the moderator. If it's an automatic spam prevention software, I would say it would have to be a large number (for example 10) in a short time...

    Then don't spam any blogs.

Simply post your real comments about the given article. Even if you comment on 5 posts, the owner won't remove them (if they are worthy comments).

Don't give comments such as "Great post", "Keep it up", "I like the article" and so forth. Give real feedback.

    Why not use directories?

It's not the quantity that you can measure a spam. It's quantity that you should be looking for for a comment to be considered spam. ;)

Get a Post-it note, write "There's no such thing as quality spam". Stick it on your monitor. :)

Don't build links, build authority. People can see spam better than you think. Make your comments original and not spammy. You don't have to recommend your own site every time you comment.

The question should be, "how many nonrelevant comments can be posted on a blog entry to be considered spam?" The answer is ONE.
