I have been selling hosting for a while now, and I have been wondering if I am charging -enough or -too less I offer unlimited everything and I am just wondering, for those who know about hosting, what would you say the going price on that is? Again, this is just to see where my price stands and what the different suggestions are. Thanks for your help. ( When I say unlimited everything, thats emails/subs/bandwith/space..ect)
Unlimited everything or unlimited everything to a certain limit. So you are saying if YouTube approached you for hosting they would get the same price for everything as Joe Schmoe with a blog that doesn't even rank in Alexa? Having unlimited everything is a mistake because it allows people then to take advantage of your servers and if this offer stands I am sure you will have plenty of customers through DP who have download websites like YouSendIt types who would want the hosting. I would break it down into packages. One niche that many people need is for those who don't even need as much bandwidth as most economy packages give. People who need lets say 1 gig or less of bandwidth and charge them $1.99 a month for hosting. You would get more people with a smaller package and slowly increase it. So to answer your question there is no answer because what you are offering has too many variables and is borderline ridiculous unless you are up for wasting money.
I really do appreciate that well written reply. I was hopping to see a reply like yours and what you have suggested is great. I really never put it in consideration like you explained. Other problems I ran into were that people were just uploading crap all day, and it would horribly lag the servers. Thank you again for your help!
Lambofgod90015, you should set some limit. I suggest you to create a few packages and let the customer to choose the right package for their usage.
