Hi all, Well i have become more prone to buying domain names that have just dropped but still have very firm backlinks to them to allow the PR to return and hold but it seems that i have today bought one of the strangest domains that i could have imagined, i will explain why. Today i have bought ProphetMohammed.co.uk which has backlinks from PR5 sites, PR4 sites and others but the drama starts when i searched for what the site used to hold on it and the result was shocking!! The site is well known online according to a number of Muslim friends that i have as the site used to display anti-islamic images on the site in a move that seems to have been targeted towards upsetting the Islamic population. During my research i found a Facebook page where the domain is mentioned and one member even says that he was prepared to donate $10,000 towards the cost of citing a case to Nominate in a bid to try have the domain returned to an Islamic property due to claims that the domain was being used to cite hate. Now i have not ever spoken to the old owner, nor did i buy the domain from him at any point but i am now in control of the domain and i want to know if there is value in the domain to the Islamic community out there. I am all for freedom of speech but the use the domain was put to was not just shocking but completely uncalled for. Do i look to sell the domain only to the Islamic/Muslim community so that the members of the facebook group get their wish and there is another highly relevant Islamic domain returned to someone passionate about the niche or should i simply list the domain for sale on a large auction site where it would run the risk of being used for the same thing all over again? What price do you think that the domain would fetch?
Probably only pitch to Muslims, else your mistake might cause a lot of people feel bad! Power brings responsibility.
