hi, for a site that gets alot of traffic like imageshack, etc...they use ads that pay per impression right? if so, whats the average payout per impression? 3 cents?
The pay per impression would be very low. They use CPM (cost per million/thousand), so they only get paid every 1000 impressions. I dont think it would really be that much.
CPM is usually in the range of a few dollars - some very good CPMs (Vizu polls) claim to pay up to $20 CPM, but I haven't experienced that myself.
I have been playing/testing with Google AdSense and it hasn't been very long. On their pay per impression (per 1000), I have seen CPM rates range from $0.31 to $1.04 for the website I'm using. Clicks are definitely worth more in the AdSense model, but I don't have enough data to determine (over a long period of time) to see if I do better with impressions or clicks. The question is, can I generate enough clicks to exceed CPM? Huligan
