I recently put up www.rockandrollnow.com - it has 49 articles on rock and roll, a nice theme, and is getting indexed slowly but surely. Not many backlinks yet, but with the 49 UNIQUE articles, do you think I could get like $320?
The site is brand new, and isn't getting any traffic yet, so you can't assume any earnings. However, with the amount of unique content on there and the small promotion I've done, I was hoping for at least $320.
It's hard to sell something without revenue traffic, unless the buyer is a developer/marketer, and you only find serious big ones on SitePoint. Try either to make revenue for 1-2 months, or simply polish it good and get a high PR, it looks good for buyers, it's psychological. Cheers, hope it helped
$320 seems kind of low. How long did it take you to write all that content? I personally wouldn't give away my time like that. But unfortunately, a website is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. If you don't get the price you want, hold on to it and keep developing it.
Content, traffic, and even PR are nothing if your site is not earning. To demand reasonable price, you must show evidence that site is earning...
I disagree completely with that opinion. Unique content and good traffic do have value. Even PR adds value to a site.
if its new i would get off like 40 articles and add 1 every day and do some serious SEO. You might make some nice income that way
bro, this site has great potential, I think your asking price is too low. If this site is SEOed the right way the site's value will increase significantly. The unique content is going to be your magic bullet. If you want, I can help you with the on-page SEO in exchange with my link on your page. Let me know, thanks Mike.
It looks like you put a lot of work into it, I think it's worth more than $320. But if you really want to make some good money off of it from a sale, establish at least a little bit of revenue. Even if it's less than $1/day, that'll ad a lot of value.
49 unique articles is imrpessive. It could probably be worth more than that, try to get some rev first
Standard pricing is 12X than your monthly earning... How could you demand this if your site is not earning? PR counts but it's just secondary...
You can demand this because of the site itself and the amount of work that went into making the articles and such... a good 500 word article can run for about $10... 49 x 10= 490... In my opinion its well worth the $375.. Good job at selling it!
This is illogical, though. You're not factoring in anything but monthly revenue. What if someone paid 700$ for a complex custom website design, but has not yet monetized their site? Based on your logic, the site is not worth a thing whatsoever. I understand my example probably is not reasonable and won't ever come to fruition, but you understand the point I'm getting at...
