How much is my freelancer account worth? $20.000 earnings

I'm a freelance designer working at home. I was working on freelancer and gained good reputation there. Completed 120 projects and my average rating is 4.7. My profile earnings are somewhere around $20.000. All projects are related to graphic design.

I want to open a new business and I won't be working on freelancer anymore. So I'm not sure what to do with my freelancer account.

Deleting account would be stupid. It's making too much money... Maybe someone wants to buy it from me? How much is it worth?

Is the account associated with an agency or your name?
I dont't think you should sell your name away for design work.

Never heard of someone selling a freelancer account, sounds interesting. I would imagine you can't do this if its associated with your name, and it's not ethical for someone to use someone else's name.. but, I am sure someone would pay you a ton of cash for that profile since it has good ratings!

Yes It's registered on my name, but my username is not associated with my name. And I can easy change the name in profile settings.

Seriously, I can't even believe you are considering this. Will you sell your Digital Point account too?

No, I don't think there's much value in Digital Point accounts.

And yes I'm serious about selling my freelancer account. If I will find a buyer, I will sell it in a heartbeat.

But I still don't know how much should I ask. how about $1.700? would that be reasonable?

I guess it would be the same as selling a website. Usually you can sell a website for 8x months revenue but only if its got consistent earnings for 12 months in a row.
So you could sell the account at whatever its made for 8x months which is a reasonable time for someone to make their money back by using it.
So if you was making $1k per month. A reasonable price to ask for would be $8k.

Ofcourse it is not allowed. And i m not sure someone will pay big dollars for this. I know the value of the profile, but there is a huge risk that you can get banned or deleted from site. What then?

It can bring you money because it has a lot of projects done with a great rating. Try your luck and advertise it. If that doesn't bring you the money you wanted than find someone and give him the account and make a deal for a percentage :)

I'm pretty sure it's against the TOS. If someone does buy
your account, I hope them good luck because Freelancer will
ban them if they somehow find out.

I don't understand why you don't just run it as a business, hire a frelancer to do all the work, if your account is so great you should be able to charge a premium and if you've completed 120 projects you should know how to get work done cheaply.

This is just my opinion :)

This is against their TOS and trying to change the account details to a new name, new country, new phone number, new PayPal/bank account, will immediately flag it and get banned.

The so called reputation earned was yours, not someone's else.
