How much is enough?

I recently had a buyer send me 250 Pm's, well 250 Pm's and emails, mostly the former. I installed the site 3 times and he could never get it to work. I never had a problem. I offereded him free hosting just trying to pretend it was his server, but I didnt have problems there but his host did.

250 Pm's. I sold the site for $19, netting me $12. as soon as I could I refunded his money. It took what seemed like a month before thats what he wanted and when he finally said yes it was a few days. I had to sell something or wait until transfer. Not a huge shock but i doubt if I get the the domain back. Honestly I could care less, i just hope i dont hear back from him, her, it.

How to you teach someone who wont listen? how many installs are enough when they werent included. I'm upset but i'm really not i just dont want this to happen again. I sold a site, i gave the name and the script. then I installed, and installed, and answered over 100 emails all for $12. At times I likely was a bit rude but never bad. ( changing DNS, deleting files, how was i to feel?)

Of course now i dontget my name back and I really dont care but its not right. No I wont share its name. If I see him even hint at doing omething wrong I will try my best.

Has anyone here every answered 250 emails for $12? He has my name, script, and 250 Pm's, but if he is honest doubt if he can use them

I think i broke a record at 250 Pm's and never cussing, worst sell I've ever made.

    Hahaha...sorry I had to laugh!

Yeah, such low margin transactions are not worth dealing with if they involve manual work like installation. I would charge atleast $25 for installation alone.

I would just say you bought it, deal with it. You buy sites as is. If they don't know how to work it, thats their problem. You were nice by helping though.

haha wow 250 PM's! I sold a site for $50, but of course paypal took a couple of dollars from that, AND I had to renew the domain and hosting right before he purchased it, so I made like no money from it.

Its great that you were willing to go above and beyond what was probably actually required of you. Write it off as a learning experience though, charge enough to make it worth your while. If you run into problems let them know heads up what the deal is and be honest with them. Even if it is out of your hands, keep a cool head. But if all else fails, return the money and go on to another project if he won't listen.

I didnt "buy it" I sold it. I sold it. UI installed it 3 times and answered 250 Pm's. Thats over and above. If its not i got work for yo you. One install is nice. two is being really nice, three is pushing it to the limit. 50 emails is over the top, 250 is extreme. Deal with it, please, would you really want to deal with 250 PM's? If it was a $10,000 site and they were polie, and i agreed to unlimited support,,,,,

The good thing is as PHPGator is that you were helpful. It is good to be helpful to a degree.

You also didn't blow up which is good. Remain professional at all times is commendable.

From now on charge something for installation as mentioned so you do get compensated for your time.

My cool head wasnt that easy. It was on last nerve.

To me its important how I feel and I lost it.....but i didnt say it.

it works out that i have been stole from, but what, $7.

I feelmore sorry for him than that. I kept my tongue, I did all I could do. I havent mentioned his name. I called a lawyer and checked his address.

Its 412 and i will let it go. Wont even try to take a bite out of him, but desire is there. My cheks are sore, I'll turn my cheeks and my back and hope for the best. I feel sure he wont do the right thing, thats okay I guess........
