quote from wired news interview with Harold Davis: "As for money, people who are really in the business of making a living off content pages say they average about $10 a page per year. That would be a pretty good average. Usually, it's not enough to make a living on, but it's a good supplement." What do you think? Does this seem about right to you? Obviously, it all depends on your topic as some topics pay better than others.
Mine's about $4.75 a post a year. But I'm not really blogging for $$$ and with the hosted blogger it's a pain to get the ads optimized. Can;t even get Chtikia INSIDE the post.
I have content pages that I make $10 a day with. Others far less. If you are only making $10/page/year, I think you are doing something wrong.
Could you please define "contented page", please? I'm assuming a "contended page" is a high quality article with information that people can actually benefit from. Brandon
and contented page is a page that is happy, I guess. A content page is a page with information that people digest and/or use (maybe come back to).
I would expect the $10/page/year is an average across all your pages. Some can do fantastically well, while others fall flat. I would expect a content page is an article with information, not necessarily a 'high quality' page. I should mention that Darren mentioned this at problogger.net and he thought this estimate was conservative for some of his (I'm assuming camera) blogs, but three times higher than what he makes for problogger itself.
I make about $1-$6/per blog post and I maintain dozens of blogs. Equates to about $38/day. /dev/Sunnybrook/Blog Nigerian 419 Scam
On my best (but newest) blog, I get about 48 cents a day with about 100 posts currently. That equates to around .0048 cents a day for each post. Or about $1.75 per post over the year. I expect that number to improve, however.
So going with the $10 / page idea, if you had 1000 pages on your site, you'd expect to make $10,000 per year. I would have thought that this would have been higher, but I'm still early in the game. Brandon
I am also very very new to this game.I was thinking of registering for my first blog so gathering some info and came across this post but the figures are really really cooool and intresting. I am sorry if i am going offtopic but can anyone please tell me where can i find A,B,C of earning through blog?I want to start from very basics.
Are you looking for a "hosted" blog, a service like blogger.com? Or are you looking to use something like Wordpress, and maintain your own site on a paid server? Just google for "blog guide" and you'll find what you need.
Go to problogger.net and start reading. It will give you a good idea of how to get it going. I like performancing.com, too.
