How much is a spammed forum site worth?

    I have a friend that is running a forum www.gunandscope.com but it has been hijacked by spammers and backlinkers.. This has driven traffic way up and the site is now a page rank 3 with do-follow post linking allowed..
    The site is averaging steady growth, with 140+uniques/day and around 120,000 "hits" a month.
    It looks to be all spam,
    is this worth anything for advertising or could money be made off advertising here?

    If you cleaned up the spam posts and set the links to nofollow you could probably rehab the site and piggyback on the PR gained through the spammy activity.

    It couldn't hurt to give it a shot but definitely cleanup the spam posts first so you don't piss off the ad company.
