Haha, no, I mean to sell. If a site consistently makes $100/day, and you can prove it and hand it off, how much should you sell it for?

id say 40-80k if it's a content site, and not some short term adsense website...

    That sounds about right.

Totally depends on the site though- it could be more...could be less.

So where would you expect the revenue is coming from on a content site if not from adsense (or some other CPC advertising)?

Cant imagine that people will be willing to buy a website ranging from 40k-80k. I know I wouldnt. Even if your able to prove me stats of a year old I would still be reluctant to buy a website for that amount of money. I would personally believe that the risk involved with a reduction in montly incomes is to high to buy such a website. BTW if your interested in buying one for 80k drop me a pm. I would sell mine.

Haha. I had a competitor ask me what I wanted for my site. I said it is not for sale. He said but what would you let it go for. I said it is not for sale.

He said okay, I know it is not for sale but what would you sell it for. I said 500,000.

And he said, wtf you'll never sell it for that.

    True story. ROFL.

A site that makes $100 per day net is worth quite a bit.
    How much depends on:
    a) outgoings - what does it cost to keep it at $100 per day.
    b) provable income (can you prove $100 per day for the last 12 months).
    c) expansion potential (can it be expanded beyond $100 per day or is it at it's max).
    d) income sources (is the income from one source or many).
    e) long term viability (is it likely to still be earning $100 per day in 12 months time).
    f) how many hours does it take to maintain the $100 per day.
    g) what type of site is it (content, product, what ?).

It could be worth 70K or it could be worth 10K or less depending on the answer to the above.

It also depends on the value to the buyer... I've experienced this many times in property development... what one person would pay could be twice what another would pay because of how that property fits their portfolio and works for them.

I've been told by property "experts" that i would never get more than X for a property and I've got 50-100% more by finding the RIGHT buyer who finds more value in it. I'm talking 100's of thou not a few pennies.

So the key is to think about who is the ideal buyer and market it to that type of buyer.

With websites... a performing site say in the travel industry with the right focus on a location or vertical tight market could have huge value to someone with an offline business congruent with the site content... Just think what their yellow page or tourist guide bill is :) ... $10,000 per year for some.

Show them how your website can drive traffic to their business and you got a "fish"

If you have such a site, PM me.
My offer for such a site would depend on a)the time & resources needed to run the site, b)the product/content/service that makes the money, c)the time online that it has made $100/ day.

I have cash on hand for good opportunities, so PM me!

The time effort thing is important. If it takes 80 hours a month of expert level experience to maintain at that level, than its value is reduced. If it can make $100.00 a day by just checking a few e-mails, than it obviously has a greater value.

So many factors determine if it is viable.. And as for price, I agree that it is whatever someone else values it, is what it is worth.

I could say I had a site worth $1,000,000.00 but if nobody ever paid me $1,000,000.00 for it, then it is not worth that much.

    Nice try!

I would not show off my site in a forum that makes that much a day....because the next week there will be a few hundred clones around.....

    Cheers
