Permanant or monthly? Targeted traffic or no traffic? There are quite a few variables that play into how much a link is worth.
I think it depends on traffic rank, age of the site. This tool will help you work out what you got to pay http://www.webconfs.com/link-value.php
I would just go through all the different threads for link sales and that will give you a good idea. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/forumdisplay.php?f=58
PR today, gone tomorrow ! Forget the PR , think about traffic the link will get you. Check out the alexa ranking of the site. It will give you some idea (not very accurate though) on how much traffic you can expect. If you are unsure then ask the site owner to put your link on a trial basis (for some payment of course ). If the result is good go for the link after calculating the cost effectiveness. I tried this method to find a few good links for my client's site. One of these links is now producing close to 350 visitors to his bookstore site.
It says I should be getting $133 per month for my PR5 site Now, who wants a link on my page? Never seen that tool before, seriously, am I undercharging? I currently get $40.00/month for my home page, with a description.
Price will depend on the quality of the website (PR), plus where the link will be placed (Home page, link page or site-wide link).. usually it ranges from USD$ 60 to USD $200 per month (for PR7 and higher)... Just checked the prices for Google, Yahoo and MSN Google : USD 93,333/month Yahoo! : USD 61,667/month MSN : USD 60,000/month Not bad for some extra revenue
No but I like the tool. I was paying $80 / month for this one site and felt it was high, run it through the tool and come to find out the suggested price is $140 Run my site through and come to find out suggested price is $100 ... heeeeeeyy !!!! So, time to get busy create some buy-an-ad pages, I think I'll let it go for 55 dollars or thereabouts. Meanwhile, a category (2nd tier) clocks in right around 50 / month, so my paid permanent links are not a bogus deal... Perhaps advertise within 2nd tier pages, $20 / month, $35 for 60 days, $50 for 90 and $60 for 120 (buy 3 get 1 free) Far as pr, that in and of itself doesn't mean much but I'm suddenly glad to see it is hyped for marketing thusly. More money in my pocket = more money I can spend on advertising. ... That tool rulez might be a bit over-priced, but some adjustment takes care of that.
