Well at times the celebrities try to claim the domain claiming copyright issues incase of direct names.. but since its a .net less chances of it happening to you.. but if the celebrity is searched a lot then its worth keeping

    Domain 1 - 6600
    Domain 2 - 90500
    Domain 3 - 9500
    Domain 4 - 27100
    Domain 5 - 49500
    Domain 6 - 2900

These are the global monthly search volumes according to Adword Keyword tool.

The rest of the domain are also in these range.

But these personalities, celebrities are very young now, in another 1-2 years popularity will grow 10 fold. I am sure about that.

    What do you think now?

I would leave them well alone........... even if it is misspelt and could be confused with a famous personit is still unwise....

    "Lanham Act, specifically 15 U.S.C. §§ 1125 (d) and 1129(1)(A).:

Any person who registers a domain name that consists of the name of another living person, or a name substantially and confusingly similar thereto, without that person's consent, with the specific intent to profit from such name by selling the domain name for financial gain to that person or any third party, shall be liable in a civil action by such person."

Thats what i initially thought. But then i saw these

    http://www.dnjournal.com/archive/domainsales/2006/domainsales04_04_06.htm

Franklampard.com sold for $12,400, no issues there.

    And

    http://flippa.com/auctions/78315/StevenGerrard-net--4-year-old-Top-Ranked-site

Got bids of $1000+ , No issues again.

The names i got are not so famous yet, but in a year or two they will be bigger.

I personally avoid .net if the same domain with .com extension is registered by someone.

Just because someone else has decided not to sue for trademark infringement, it doesn't mean the person you registered won't. The person who used to own Madonna.com lost a million dollars and the domain. It's extremely likely that they could take the domain from you with a UDRP - or if they wanted, sue you for the domain and damages. What you are doing is cybersquatting. You may be able to use it for a non-commercial fan site - but this means you can't take in any income from the site (no ads, no memberships, nothing). It would be best to get permission to use the domain for a fan site - and certainly don't offer to sell it to them - it's evidence of bad faith.

Make a very, very nice fan site and send an email to the certain company who is managing that certain personality or celebrity just to be safe. If they want the domain just give the domain. This can save you a lot of trouble in the future. Chance are you will get a positive reply if your fansite gives a +ve impression of the personality and if they already have the .com version

Just like bobchrist said, I too would not bother with the domain .net. Most famous people have .com and the .net extension just seems useless to me.
