    In my opinion nothing it will be repeat content plus members that have no idea that there content is on another forum.. I would never do this to jump start a forum if you want something like that you should just use paid posting. At least this way you can get orginal content.

    If the data you are buying is for a similar niche, I think you can then send an email to members asking them to participate on your site as well.
    If you do a little development (some content) before emailing these members, I think you can get a good start.
    Won't bother about the "posts" database. It's just "duplicate" data.

    It would be for a gaming forum and I know most of the member already and Im a member with 500+ posts.

    It would be going from gaming site to another gaming site.

    Or you could use the members AND the posts, and give them an incentive to switch... "xyz accounts work here too.. no need to re-register"

    Or just pay (considerably less) to ask the forum owner to send out a blanket email to all members to advertise your forum...easy!
